JINGGANGSHAN UNIVERSITY LANDSCAPE REDEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL DECEMBER 2017

​The main premise of the landscape design is to unify the character of the site and preserve the natural environment.  This includes not to think only in terms of development, but also to manage the natural resources for the benefit of the current and future generations.  The design aims to redefine landscape not just as a mere ornament but to be incorporated into the overall usage, making it an essential part of the human activity and architectural function. 
One of the strategies is to erase the boundary that separates the environment and the man-made enclosure, making it intertwine with a holistic approach. For this, pedestrian circulation was approached from several perspectives, giving, as a result, the creation of different circulation paths: sidewalk circulation, pathways, landscape walks and the Hill Side Green Connector.

​​​A controlled development aims to promote built environment only to the necessary extent and to preserve the natural environment.  The best landscape designer is mother nature, and natural limits such as hills and water streams are to be respected and integrated into the overall design scheme. These green spaces connect all the campus areas, and this is reinforced by the use of pathways and the green connector.​
It’s equally important to detect and establish future expansion areas that can be utilized in the future for development and infrastructure. However, at the moment its proposed to be part of the green connector of the University, a strategy that will protect these spaces from inadequate use.

The pedestrians are divided in to several categories : Sidewalk Circulation; Hill Side Green Connector; Pathways; Landscape Walks

​A controlled Development is not to over develop and to preserve the natural environment.  The best landscape Design is mother Nature, as such green reserve is establish through out the site making a green connector that links the pedestrians and the development

​Future expansion areas that can be utilized in the future for development and infra structure, however, at the moment its proposed to be part of the green connector of the University

​​Lighting is a crucial part of landscape design since not all activity occurs during the day. The road lighting is located only on one side to minimize electrical cost.  Intelligent motion detector lights are also allocated in the landscape, to ensure that they will only consume energy when they’re truly needed.  Solar power street lights are also specified in the scheme and will contribute to the use and promotion of renewable energy sources.
