Landscape Pond
Water gardens are all about letting nature take over the landscape, while we remain as mere spectators. This timber deck is carefully placed next to a small stream of water, framed by tropical vegetation.

The combination of natural forms
and a planting pallet such as this one creates an environment that carries some resemblance to the wilderness. The design is to create a natural feel with out too much impact on the site and the existing Terrain. Trees were preserve and steep slopes was treated with green retaining walls.
"The design is to create a natural feel"

Sunken Garden
Sunken gardens are a great way of creating a natural environment that stimulates the senses and remains protected from human intervention at the same time. It can set clear limits between private and public spaces, and the level differences divide the public gardens from the ones that are meant only for contemplation.
"Sunken gardens are a great way of creating a natural environment "
This is part of a design for a hotel in Nanjing, China.  Due to an adjoining river, the timber deck was designed at a higher elevation, creating an interesting route that features decks of different levels.  It’s complemented by sunken gardens and private courtyards, that are meant to be used for outdoor dining and private parties.

River Side Landscape Design
Man-made rivers can be designed to emphasize limits between buildings, placing pathways on each riverside that can become observation and contemplation points. This can bring beautiful views to the eye without adventuring too far from the built environment.

The opposite can be done when the intention is to erase the limits that were previously mentioned. By locating the pathway on a higher level and following the course of the river itself, one can escape temporarily from the built environment and be surrounded by nature.

The design premise is to create a natural feel, with out too much impact on the site and the existing terrain. Trees were preserved and steep slopes were treated with green retaining walls.
Pavings and pathways were designed so they complemented such premises, and circular spaces mark the limits of the garden itself.
